Milla returned to the 1994 FIFA World Cup at the age of 42, being the oldest player ever to appear in a World Cup. Cameroon were knocked out in the group stages; however, Milla scored a goal against Russia, setting a record as the oldest goalscorer in a World Cup tournament; a record he set in the previous World Cup edition.

LEGENDS - ‪‪GHANA - Abedi holds the record for most appearances at the Nations Cup Finals

He was the captain of Ghana's national football team for six years (1992-1998) and was one of the first African football players to earn a top placing in FIFA World Player of the Year voting in 1991 and 1992. 

Abedi Pele played for Ghana 73 times and is considered the greatest football player in his country's history, and among the best in Africa. Until 7 June 2013 when he was surpassed by Asamoah Gyan, he was the top goal scorer for Ghana with 33 goals.

Stars in Europe - Senegal - Transfer - Modou Kéba Cissé joined Aston Villa

Modou Kéba Cissé

Early career
Cissé played his early football at the Senegalese Be Sport Academy, before signing for Spanish club Real Ávila's youth system in February 2024.

Lask
The 20-year-old Senegalese centre-back was in Spain for only 4 months before, on 14 July 2024, he was signed by Austrian Football Bundesliga club Lask.

Cissé played 5 matches for the club's B-team in the Austrian Regionalliga before being moved to the first team.

He made his professional debut on 23 February 2025, in a 2:1 league victory over Rapid Vienna.

On 19 July 2025, English club Aston Villa announced that they had come to an agreement for the signing of Cissé in the summer of 2026, with the defender remaining at the Austrian club until then.

It was reported that the transfer fee was around £4 million. Cissé trained with the Aston Villa side during the Austrian league's winter break in December 2025.

Lask won the league and cup with Cissé appearing 30 times over the season.

Aston Villa
Cissé joined Aston Villa in July 2026 as per the terms of the contract agreed upon one year prior.
