BAYERN MUNICH MEHDI BENATIA

Bayern Munich extended their lead at the top of the Bundesliga table to 10 points thanks to four second-half goals away to third-placed Augsburg.

After 57 goalless minutes, centre-back Mehdi Benatia headed home his first goal for the club, with Arjen Robben doubling their lead almost immediately with a curling shot in off the post.

Robert Lewandowski slotted home their third past Alex Mannigner and Robben got his second with a low shot from 18 yards as Pep Guardiola's side overwhelmed the hosts.

Back-to-back German double winners Bayern have not lost a meaningful league game - excluding two after they had already won the 2013-14 title - since October 2012, over two years ago.

"It is not always easy after a Champions League game but we did it very well today," Guardiola said.

Bayern now cannot be overtaken in the league until 2015, meaning they have won the unofficial autumn championship.

"Autumn champion only means we have won many games. 

But it means nothing more than that," said Guardiola.

Second-placed Wolfsburg host Paderborn on Sunday.
