Mali vs Honduras 3:0

Mali moved into the last 16 of the Fifa Under 17 World Cup in Chile with a 3:0 win over Honduras on Saturday.

The result put the African champions top of group D, a point ahead of Ecuador.

The defeat left Honduras without a single point as they bowed out of the tournament.

Mali secured the victory thanks to goals from Amadou Haidara, Abdoul Dante and Aly Malle.

Haidara put Mali ahead early in the game with a goal in the 7th minute.

Captain Abdoul Dante added a second 11 minutes before the break, with Malle making sure of the victory with a goal in the 56th minute.

After the match, the Mali coach, Baye Ba, said he was happy with the result.

"This is a long journey that began a while ago in the African qualifying and now we have finished in the first position in our group," Ba told Fifa.

"Mali finished in third position in U-20 finals that took place some months ago in New Zealand and this is our goal too: be in the four best teams of this tournament," Ba added.
