5th matches

Group A
13/08/16: Young Africans vs Mouloudia Bejaia 1:0
14/08/16: Medeama vs TP Mazembe 3:2

Group B
12/08/16: Etoile du Sahel vs Kawkab Marrakech 3:1
12/08/16: Al Ahli Tripoli vs FUS Rabat 1:1

A 95th minute winner from Kwesi Donsu helped Medeama of Ghana seal a dramatic 3:2 win over TP Mazembe of the Democratic Republic of Congo to keep their African Confederation Cup semi-final hopes alive from Group A.

Holders Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia and FUS Rabat of Morocco had already secured their places in the last four of the competition from Group B.

Etoile defeated Kawkab Marrakech of Morocco 3:1 in Sousse to continue the defence of their title as FUS Rabat drew 1:1 with Al Ahli Tripoli.

On Sunday in Sekondi, Kwesi Donsu proved to be Medeama's hero when he darted into the box, rounded TP Mazembe's goalkeeper Sylvain Gbohouo and scored with a low shot from a difficult angle in one of the most entertaining matches seen in Africa's second-tier club competition.

Medeama started the match well, as a blunder by Ivory Coast-born Mazembe goalkeeper Gbohouo allowed an Atta Agyei free-kick to trickle into the net on 32 minutes for the only first-half goal.

Moses Sarpong converted a harshly awarded penalty to double Medeama's lead after 59 minutes only for Jonathan Bolingi to score with a close-range header two minutes later.

Another close-range header brought Mazembe level on 73 minutes with Rainford Kalaba the scorer, before Donsu's later winner for Medeama.

Already-qualified Mazembe retained top spot in Group A with 10 points despite their first defeat of the group phase.

Medeama have eight points, Mouloudia Bejaia of Algeria five and eliminated Young Africans of Tanzania four.

Mazembe need one point from a home fixture against Young Africans later this month to be sure of topping the table and facing the Group B runners-up in the semi-finals.

Bejaia, who lost 1:0 at Young Africans Saturday courtesy of a third minute Amis Tambwe goal, must defeat Medeama at home to snatch second place on head-to-head records having drawn 0:0 in Ghana during June.

In Group A, Etoile du Sahel's Iheb Msakni scored either side of a Hamza Lahmar goal to give the Tunisians a three-goal advantage over Kawkab Marrakech just after half-time before Ahmed Chagou pulled one back.

FUS Rabat booked their semi-final place with a 1:1 draw against Al Ahly Tripoli of Libya in a game switched to Tunis for security reasons.

Gambian Youssoupha Njie gave the Rabat outfit a second-half lead that was cancelled by Rabie Allafi 10 minutes later to end a run of four straight Ahly losses.

FUS have 11 points, Etoile 10, Kawkab six and Ahly one with the remaining two fixtures scheduled for 23/24 August.
