Group B
29/06/16: Al Ahli Tripoli vs Kawkab Marrakech 1:2
29/06/16: Etoile du Sahel vs FUS Rabat 1:1

Ghanaian side Medeama were held to a 0:0 draw at home by Algeria's Mouloudia Bejaia in Sekondi on Wednesday, as the group phase of the African Confederation Cup continued.

The result leaves Medeama five points adrift of Group A leaders TP Mazembe who beat Young Africans 1:0 on Tuesday in Tanzania.

Moloudia Bejaia are two points adrift of Mazembe, but it was disappointing for Medeama who had won all three previous home matches in the Confederation Cup this year 2:0.

TP Mazembe's victory in Dar es Salaam earned them their first away win in Confederation of African Football club competitions this year.

The DR Congo side scored in the 75th minute when Merveille 'Bope' Bokadi steered the ball home from close range after latching on to Roger Assale's follow-up effort from a free-kick routine.

The goal was bookended by two refereeing decisions questioned by the teams; first when Mazembe felt that the foul for the free-kick had taken place in the penalty area, and the second a claim from Young Africans that Bope was offside when he scored.

Mazembe, the equal second most successful Confederation of African Football club with nine titles, were demoted from the Champions League after being eliminated by Wydad.

Their win in Tanzania, in a stadium that was packed following the decision to allow fans free entry, puts them in a strong position to finish top of Group A.

In Group B, Morocco's Kawkab Marrakech earned a 2:1 win away to Al Ahli Tripoli of Libya.

The match was played in Tunisia due to the ongoing security problems in Libya.

The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty in the 34th minute converted by Mohamed El Fakih which was cancelled out by another spot-kick four minutes later from Mohamed Al Ghanodin.

Kawkab's Brazilian striker Luiz Jeferson Escher grabbed the winner for the Moroccan side in the 64th minute.

Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia were held 1:1 at home by FUS Rabat of Morocco as their unconvincing defence of the trophy continued.

Ahmed Akaichi gave the hosts a third-minute lead in Mediterranean resort Sousse from an offside position, slamming a rebound into the net from point-blank range.

FUS, shock 2010 winners of the African equivalent of the Europa League, gradually stamped their authority on the Group B matchday 2 clash and levelled midway through the second half.

A low cross eluded several defenders and Abdessalam Benjelloun tapped the ball over the line to silence a near-capacity crowd at the 25,000-seat Stade Olympique.
