AFRICAN CONFEDERATION CUP 2015 - GROUP STAGE - 6TH MATCHES - details

AFRICAN CONFEDERATION CUP 2015

GROUP A
12.08.15: Etoile vs Esperance 2:1
12.08.15: Al Ahly vs Stade Malien 1:0

GROUP B
13.08.15: AC Leopards vs CS Sfaxien 0:0
13.08.15: Zamalek vs Orlando Pirates 4:1

A 4:1 win for Zamalek over Orlando Pirates of South Africa confirmed the Egyptian side at the top of Group B in the Confederation Cup.

That means they avoid Cairo rivals Al Ahly in the semi-finals of the competition.

But the two sides could still meet in the final, because title holders Ahly are also through to the last four.

They beat Stade Malien of Mali 1:0 in Suez on Saturday to top Group A.

Zamalek face Etoile du Sahel in the last four and Ahly take on Pirates, who are through despite their defeat.

Goals from Tawfik, Mekki, Fathy and Kharaba gave Zamalek an emphatic win in Cairo on Sunday over the visiting South Africans.

Pirates captain Oupa Manyisa scored for the visitors.

The other game on Sunday was a goalless draw between AC Leopards of Congo and Tunisia's CS SFaxien - neither of whom have qualified.

In Saturday's games Amr Gamal came off the bench for Ahly and scored the winner after 75 minutes at the Suez Military Stadium.

Etoile du Sahel of Tunisia finished second behind Ahly on goal difference after a dramatic 2:1 triumph over compatriots Esperance in Mediterranean resort Sousse.

Haythem Jouini gave Esperance a 25th-minute lead at Stade Olympique which they held until 60 seconds from time when Baghdad Bounedjah equalised.

The Algerian struck again three minutes into stoppage time to earn 2006 Confederation Cup winners Etoile maximum points and condemn Esperance to a fifth loss in six group games.

Should both Ahly and Zamalek win their respective semi-finals, the Egyptian government has suggested fans could be allowed in to watch the two-legged final.

The country's sports minister said last week that fans would be allowed in for national team matches and for international club games.
