STARS IN THE UAE - MOROCCO - ASSAIDI MOVES FROM LIVERPOOL TO DUBAI

Al-Ahli Dubai F.C.

The 26-year-old Moroccan signed for the Reds from Dutch side Heerenveen in 2012 but struggled to hold down a place in the team and made just 12 appearances.

Assaidi spent last season on loan at Stoke, where he scored five goals, and returned to the Britannia this term.

However, his spell with the Potters has been cut short in order for him to complete a permanent move to Dubai.

Assaidi, who has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with the United Arab Emirates club, was Brendan Rodgers's third signing as Liverpool boss.

After Italian forward Fabio Borini from Roma and Welsh midfielder Joe Allen from Swansea - with the manager saying at the time: "He fits our style perfectly."

But the highlight of Assaidi's Premier League career came not in a Liverpool shirt but at Stoke, when his ferocious last-minute strike in December 2013 earned the Potters a dramatic 3:2 win over Chelsea.
