African Champions League 2014 - Limit on fans for Vita

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has confirmed that a limit of 5,000 supporters will be allowed into Kinshasa's Tata Raphael Stadium for Sunday's African Champions League match between AS Vita Club and Egyptian side Zamalek.

It follows the tragic stampede at the stadium last weekend. 15 people were killed and many more injured during the league match between AS Vita Club and their arch rivals TP Mazembe. A limit on fans for Sunday's Champions League Group A fixture was agreed following a meeting between the Congolese Football Association (Fecofa) and the security services.

The measures have been put in place in order to avoid over-crowding at the stadium. Priority will be given to supporters with valid membership cards. CAF also say the Executive Committee of Fecofa, led by President Constant Omari, has inspected facilities at the stadium to ensure it is safe.
