Frenchman Herve Renard has been appointed coach of Ivory Coast. The 45-year-old had two spells as Zambia coach and led them to the Africa Cup of Nations title in 2012.

Queiroz coached South Africa for two years from 2000 but was sacked after qualifying the side for the 2002 World Cup. He has been in charge of Iran since 2011 and took them took to the World Cup in Brazil, where they were eliminated at the group stage.

COACHES - ALGERIA - Christian Gourcuff named as Algeria's new national coach

Gourcuff was last coach of Lorient, leaving the job in May at the end of the Ligue 1 season. He has also coached at Le Mans and Stade Rennes and had a one-year spell in Saudi Arabia.

NATIONAL TEAM - ZAMBIA - COACH - Beaumelle steps down

Frenchman Patrice Beaumelle has stepped down as coach of Zambia after just nine months in charge of Chipolopolo.

He looks set to join up once again with Herve Renard, who was appointed coach of Ivory Coast last week.

Beaumelle was assistant to Renard when he was coach of Zambia and stepped up to replace him when he resigned in October.

Zambia's next competitive game is an 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in September.

The 2012 African champions are in Group F of qualifying for Morocco alongside Cape Verde, Niger and either Mozambique or Tanzania.

Renard and Beaumelle worked together in charge of Angola as well as at Algerian club USMA before being appointed as coaches of Zambia.

The duo oversaw Zambia's 2012 Africa Cup of Nations victory in Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, when they beat Ivory Coast on penalties in the final.
