GUNNING FOR SUCCESS

Why is Thierry Henry coaching Belgium, how old is he and when did the France World Cup winner become a coach?

Former Arsenal and Barcelona striker Henry was at the World Cup in Russia with Belgium this summer.

WORLD CUP WINNER 1998

HENRY is a retired French footballer who played as a forward.

The 40-year-old started his professional career at Monaco where he made over 100 appearances before moving to Juventus.

After an unsettled time in Italy, Henry was transferred to Arsenal for around £11million to re-unite with former manager Arsene Wenger.

The striker spent eight years with the Gunners scoring 174 goals in 254 appearances - and held the record for the most goals scored for one club (until it was beaten by Wayne Rooney in 2016).

After securing his status as a "legend" at Arsenal, Henry moved to Barcelona in the summer 2007 where he won two La Liga titles amongst numerous other trophies.

Henry finished his career at New York Bulls - with a short loan back to Arsenal - before retiring in 2014.

For France, Henry was an important asset to the side, gaining his debut in 1997.

He went on to make 123 appearances for his country, scoring 51 goals.
