Nelson Mandela - Sport pays tribute to former South Africa president

Mandela has been described as the architect of the 2010 World Cup by FIFA president Sepp Blatter, and the head of the football world governing body was correct. 

"You are the true architect of this FIFA World Cup; your presence and commitment made it happen. Now the first African FIFA World Cup is reality," explained Blatter while handing over the trophy to Mandela at a press conference in 2010.

STARS IN EUROPE - ALGERIA - CLUB - Bentaleb agrees permanent Schalke move

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Nabil Bentaleb will join Schalke on a permanent deal at the end of his loan spell this summer.

The 22-year-old Algeria international moved to the German side on a season-long loan in August and has made 20 Bundesliga appearances.

He has agreed a four-year deal with the Gelsenkirchen team, although neither club has revealed details of any fee.

Bentaleb had made 66 appearances for Spurs since joining as a teenager.
