STARS IN EUROPE - SENEGAL - CLUB - Napoli fans to wear Kalidou Koulibaly masks

S.S.C. Napoli Kalidou Koulibaly

Napoli fans are being urged to wear the masks when the players walk out

A group of Napoli supporters will wear masks of defender Kalidou Koulibaly against Carpi on Sunday, after the player was racially abused by Lazio fans in their previous game.

Wednesday's league match was stopped for three minutes in the second half after some Lazio fans aimed racist chants at Napoli defender Koulibaly.

The game continued and Napoli - who are top of Serie A - won 2:0.

Supporters' group Quelli del Sangue Azzurro are behind the mask appeal.

A statement read: "Everyone in Naples is offended by what happened to our young star. Because of this, we want to show our full support to Koulibaly.

"We are all with you, Kalidou.

Our invitation to Napoli fans is to print a photo of the defender and put it on your face when the teams come on the pitch."

Lazio were fined 50,000 euros (£38,250) and will have to close three sections of the Stadio Olimpico for their next two Serie A home games.
