FIFA RANKING - ALGERIA - The Desert Foxes remain top-ranked African side

AFRICA CUP 2015

Algeria remained the top-ranked African side in Fifa's list for March, one place above Africa Cup of Nations winners Ivory Coast.

The Desert Foxes were knocked out of this year's African Cup of Nations 2015 tournament by the Ivorians at the quarter-final stage.

But despite the Elephants' title success in Equatorial Guinea, they stay behind Algeria in the rankings.

Ghana and Senegal each moved up a spot, while Nations Cup hosts Equatorial Guinea fell out of the top 10.

Fifa's African rankings for March (global rankings in brackets):

1 (18). Algeria
2 (20). Ivory Coast
3 (24). Ghana
4 (25). Tunisia
5 (36). Senegal
6 (38). Cape Verde
7 (41). Nigeria
8 (44). Guinea
9 (47). DR Congo
10 (49). Cameroon
