STARS IN EUROPE - CAMEROON - TRANSFER - Samuel Eto'o to complete Sampdoria move on Monday

SAMPDORIA

Eto'o has had spells at Real Madrid, Mallorca, Barcelona, Inter Milan, Anzhi Makhachkala, Chelsea and Everton

The 33-year-old passed a medical on Sunday, posting a picture on Twitter with the message:

"Successful medical.

Ready for a new challenge!!!"

Eto'o joined the Toffees on a free transfer in August 2014, and has scored four goals in all competitions so far this season.

Sampdoria are fourth in Serie A, 13 points behind leaders Juventus.

On 21 January, Everton manager Roberto Martinez denied reports linking the forward with a move away from Goodison Park.

But the Italian club posted a picture of the striker wearing a club polo shirt on Twitter on Saturday, before Everton confirmed the move was close to being completed.

The Cameroon international signed for Serie A rivals Inter Milan for £28m in July 2009, where he scored 25 league goals during his two-year spell.

Eto'o, four-time African Footballer of the Year, scored 12 goals in 35 appearances for Chelsea last season after signing a one-year deal from Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala.
