Entente Setif vs TP Mazembe 2:1

CAF ordered the semifinal played behind closed doors at the Algerian club’s home ground following a spate of hooligan incidents during the group phase.

Saturday's win also ended Setif's seven-month long winless drought at home in the CAF Champions League, although they remain unbeaten both at home and away since the start of the campaign.

Meanwhile, the first half of the game ended in a deadlock in which both sides’ goalkeepers made important saves off set pieces.

Mazembe then took the lead in the 51st minute thanks to a Said Aroussi own goal after the defender turned in an innocuous cross from Zambia midfielder Rainford Kalaba.

Setif equalised three minutes later in rather controversial circumstances when Younes headed the ball in from a seemingly offside position off a cross from midfielder Ali Lamri.

It took referee Neant Alioum of Cameroon two minutes to make a final decision in the midst of Setif protests after conferring with his first assistant, who had raised his flag for offside.

TP Mazembe continued to press but were unlucky to see Ghana midfielder Gladson Awako’s goal-bound shot in the 65th minute cleared off the line.

Abdelmalek Ziaya then broke Mazembe's hearts with the winner in the 88th minute. Ziaya turned Zambia defender Chongo Kabaso inside-out before unleashing an unstoppable volley from the edge of the box to beat goalkeeper Robert Kidiaba.

Meanwhile, the two sides meet in the final leg on September 27 in Lubumbashi to decide who goes through to the two legged finals set for the weekend of October 25-26 and November 1:2.
